Corn cat litter how often to replace?

Corn litter has great clumping properties, so there is no need for daily removal of the entire substrate. Remove clumps and droppings using a spatula, and then refill with new, clean litter in the same amount as has been removed. Replacing the entire substrate and washing the litter box daily is not necessary. In the case of one cat and a standard frequency of use, it is sufficient to carry out complete cleaning every 3-4 weeks.

Keep in mind a few important issues that will optimize the performance of corn litter and maximize its useful life.

How to use corn litter?

Preferably, the litter box should be filled with a 5-6 cm layer of litter. As cats tend to dig in the litter box, it could result in a space left where there is no litter. If your cat relieves itself in such a place, not only can it get its paws dirty, but also leave an unwelcome surprise for its owner to clean. After you pour litter into the litter box (from a short distance, so as not to crush pellets), it is worth remembering to shake it from side to side. In this way, the smallest grains that could be carried out of the litter box move to the bottom.
Clumps gain an optimum hardness after about 30 minutes. Then, you can remove the used substrate without risking spilling weakly bound clumps and refill the litter box with the same amount of litter that has been removed. Solid waste should be removed on an ongoing basis.
As with any substrate, you should remember to keep the litter in a dry place. If moisture penetrates the bag with litter or directly the litter box, it can lead to infection with mold contained in the moist air, which will significantly reduce the performance of the litter.
